Okay, so we're like going to this party on Saturday night. I know, I know.
It’ll be Great.
I've been waiting for this night since I can't remember. There has been a lot of discussion that frankly went over my head. I've learned to believe in the wisdom of those around me, and keep an eye out.
“Everybody in?”
There is something about a car engine when it starts up and goes fast. Just gets me every time.
So we were rolling down the boulevard and it was a beauty of a night. On top of all that, it was Saturday and late Spring, it was a college town, so the sap was rising.
Damn, I wanted to stop the car, and have at something. You know what I mean?
Well, that moment came and went. I never seem to have convincing arguments. Maybe a class would help. They're free at the community college.
We sailed into the evening. The air was divine. Cool and sweet from the ocean. I wanted to stretch out or curl up, I couldn’t make up my mind. As we were getting closer, we could feel and hear the energy. We were all giggly.
We could hear the bass rumble and the roar of laughter!
PARTY
We pulled into the circular drive, all eyes on us as we cruised by, striking our party poses. Salutes and cat calls. We drove off into the darkness, looking for a spot to park.
There was a lot of primping, combing and fussing about. Everyone was talking over each other. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. It was enough to make me start scratching.
More giggling, talk'n trash. “Yeah, Gina dumped him . . . can you believe it?”
I couldn't wait to get out the door first. But, Oh No! They beat me to the punch.
Geez, these gals are pretty but so damn pushy. No mercy!
Everyone got out and I was left in the car alone. Oh sure, they waved at me. I even got a kiss thrown at me.
